How to Sit with Painful Emotions

As difficult as it can be, learning to sit with our painful emotions is an essential part of psychological health. Emotions can provide us with important information about ourselves and can help to inform our decision making. Often times our attempts to distract ourselves from our feelings only causes more pain and suffering (e.g., self-injury, substance use).
