What Therapy Isn't
Many people come to therapy wanting answers - a better understanding of what’s not working in their life and why. And therapy works when the therapeutic framework holds space for the individual (or couple/family) to feel safe in exploration. However, there is often a misconception that therapy is about advice. Someone telling you what to do so that you can “fix” what is “broken.” This article illuminates how therapy isn’t about advice-giving and the importance of having a therapeutic relationship that is built on so much more than the therapist telling a client what to do.
